Description
Lake Barkley lodge, designed by Edward Durell Stone, seems to have just emerged naturally from the wooded shoreline, that surrounds it. Named for United States, congressman, senator and vice president, Alben Barkley (1877 – 1956), using a post-and-beam wood construction of Western Cedar, Douglas fir, and three-and one-half acres of glass, the lodge complex provides a lake view from the private balconies of most of the 120 rooms and four two bedroom suites. Lake Barkley also has 13 two bedrooms cottages/cabins and a campground with hookups consisting of 78 sites.
We attract groups of 15 to 900 in our Convention Center, which is adjacent to the lodge, offering pre-function space and 6,336 square feet of meeting space that can subdivide into 3 areas. We also have the beautiful Sunrise and Elizabeth Hooks Rooms, steps away from the main lodge, both of which can seat up to 114 guests. All of these areas take in the views of the park and can be catered to by our full service staff. Dine in your meeting area or walk over to the Windows on the Waters restaurant with mouthwatering dishes and breathtaking landscape.
Lake Barkley SRP offers many amenities including hiking, biking, Fitness Center, 18 hole Boots Randolph Golf Course, boating, fishing, swimming with an indoor and outdoor pool and beach, horseback riding and a trap shooting range. The Lodge is minutes away from Land Between The Lakes, which features a planetarium, Elk and Bison range, Nature Center and a working 1850’s Homeplace.
