Our Woodland Room provides guests panoramic views of the park’s natural beauty; beautiful lawn and gazebo are available for outdoor ceremonies; pre function space in our spacious and elegant Hearth Room; private suite for wedding preparation; and a prep kitchen all await you and your guests.
Located in the northeast area of Louisville, this urban park is a refuge from the fast-paced life of a busy city. The SHCC was building in 2009. Its natural stone and woodsy exterior is harmonious with the natural landscaping that flourishes throughout the park.
The interior continues the theme of natural beauty with the welcoming Hearth Room featuring a large fireplace encased in Brazilian marble and stone brick, stone flooring from Italy and exposed beams. The floor-to-ceiling windows and organic color palette of the Woodlands and Persimmon Rooms give the illusion that you’ve immersed yourself in the woods.
The park is also home to the Sawyer Hayes Community Center, a beautiful venue for events. This modern construction is nestled in an arboreous area of E.P. “Tom” Sawyer, and extends the outdoor theme inside with its high wooden beams, Kentucky-inspired artwork and gorgeous views of the surrounding natural scenery. The center hosts everything from weddings to business events and other occasions like anniversary parties and reunions.
Louisville’s only state park, E.P. “Tom” Sawyer, is a hub for recreational activities and a charming setting for any occasion. Located on Louisville’s east end, the park features both indoor and outdoor basketball courts, an outdoor pool, picnic tables, pavilion (shelter) rentals, team-building, an archery range, pickleball, softball, geocaching, outdoor volleyball, an orienteering course, walking trails and tennis.
With more than 5,720 square footage of space, the Sawyer Hayes Community Center can entertain up to 200 people depending on your event. The center also provides several vendor choices and access to park amenities, creating a customizable experience that is truly hard to find anywhere else.
