Aurora Landing Restaurant
Enjoy gorgeous lakeside scenery while dining in the restaurant. As a supporter of the Kentucky Proud program, we use local meats and produce when available and now serve Kentucky wine and spirits in the restaurant. Open everyday from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. for breakfast only.

Things to Do
Birding

We have excellent birding throughout the park. Take a look out the dining room windows for a variety of backyard bird species at our feeders. At the cottage area the red-headed woodpeckers and all their relatives like to hangout. We also have two Blue Bird trails, and several hiking trails. The lakeshore is always good for Herons, Egrets, waterfowl and gulls. Over 150 species of birds make the Kenlake area home.

Boating

Nothing can compare to a day on beautiful Kentucky Lake. Kenlake Marina offers boat rentals, covered slips, transient slips, and the best breakfast around! The marina is equipped with 16 open slips, 169 covered slips and 890 feet of new transient dockage to accommodate boats up to 100 feet. A launching ramp is available as well as a Marina store with gas and diesel and a restaurant serving breakfast and lunch.

Gift Shop

The gift shop features a large selection of Kentucky handcrafts and souvenirs. Open year-round.

Hiking

Kenlake has nature trails through wooded terrain, which may be hiked singularly or combined for longer distance. The Cherokee Trail is .7-mile, the Chickasaw Trail is 1-mile and the Coach Lester G. Mimms Trail is 2-miles.

Historic Cherokee State Park
Proposed in 1946 and opening in 1951, Cherokee State Park, was the only state park in Kentucky developed for African Americans. The park consisted of 300 acres, a beach, rental cottages, a kitchen and dining hall and picnic area. In June 1963, Cherokee State Park closed after Gov. Combs Executive Order ended segregation in public facility. Cherokee State Park merged with what's now known as Kenlake State Resort Park.

Outdoor Theater

The lakeside amphitheater hosts concerts to benefit boaters and land lovers alike. Don't miss the Hot August Blues Festival!

Playgrounds

Playground facilities are available in the camping and cottage areas.

Swimming

Refresh yourself on a hot day with an exhilarating swim. A swimming pool behind the lodge is available for lodge and cottage guests seasonally. There is no swimming area in the lake waters or beach on the lake.

Tennis

Tennis is a year-round sport at Kenlake! The indoor tennis center features four indoor courts, locker room facilities, and lounge/viewing area. Four lighted outdoor courts are adjacent to the tennis center. Indoor tennis center is open November 1 - April 1. Two indoor courts are available by appointment only, outside of these dates, by emailing jesse.sirls@ky.gov.

Lodge guests receive member rates for indoor court use of $16.00/hour, per court. Hourly indoor rate for general public is $25/hour, per court. Call 270-474-2211 for court times. Reservations recommended.
