General Butler Park Trails
Boy Scout Trail (Black blaze)
.25 mile trail connects Butler-Turpin State Historic House to the Fossil Trail, hiking alternative to access fossil trail, Stone entrance gate and lodge, open to hikers.
Butler Lake Trail (Orange blaze)
1.6 miles, hiking and biking, connects to a number of destinations within park, connects to other trails in park system.
Fossil Trail (Blue blaze)
4.5 miles looped trail, 3 access points, much of trail crosses open fields, old hardwood forests behind stone overlook which is highest point in county, currently open to hikers and mountain biking.
Kentucky River Lock Trail #1 (Green blaze)
1 mile, connects the park's archery range to the Lock on Kentucky River, will be incorporated into Park to Park project, open to hikers and bikers.
National Guard Trail (Red blaze)
.5 miles This out and back trail takes you to the Jay Louden Road as part of the community Park to Park trailway. Trailhead is at the mini-golf course.
StoryWalk Trail (Purple blaze)
.5 miles This looped trail can be accessed at the front entrance parking lot near the Veteran’s Memorial. This trail is due in part to Carroll County Public Library, North American Stainless, and Three Rivers Health Department. New stories monthly!
Turkey Foot Trail (White blaze)
2 miles This looped trail takes you around our new Three Rivers DiscGolfPark® course and features the beginning stages of a prairie habitat restoration project.
Woodland Trail (Yellow blaze)
1.5 miles looped trail, access is available at many points throughout the park, mature woodland forest of large tulip trees, beech and hickory, many popular wildflowers and bushes along trail, open to hikers.
