Lodging & Camping
The 36-room fieldstone lodge at this resort is named in honor of Jesse Hilton Stuart (1906-1984), Poet Laureate and native of Greenup County. Peruse Stuart’s works and personal momentos in the lodge reading room. Most of the rooms feature private patios and balconies overlooking beautiful Greenbo Lake. Rooms are available by late afternoon. Lodge room check-out by 11 a.m., local time. Rooms are available for pets. No more than two pets are allowed per room/cottage.

The campground features 75 RV sites and four year-round horseback camping sites. Horse campsites can only be reserved by calling the park. Two dumping stations, two central service buildings with showers and rest rooms, and a grocery store guarantee camping convenience. WiFi available. Open year round.

Angler's Cove Restaurant
Enjoy gorgeous mountain scenery while dining in the restaurant. As a supporter of the Kentucky Proud program, we use local meats and produce when available.

Meetings
Greenbo is the perfect place for your next meeting. The Jesse Stuart Lodge has five meeting rooms that can be combined to accommodate large groups for general session meetings or separated for smaller meetings for 10-225 people. For more information about hosting a group or wedding CLICK HERE.


Things to Do
Basketball
One court near camping booth area; campers can check out balls at booth. Two basketball goals also located at the Community Pool parking lot.

Biking
Sixteen miles of moderate to difficult trails provide the perfect opportunity for mountain bikers to enjoy the scenery of beautiful Greenbo Forest. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the trials.

Birding
Spring brings about warbler populations, thrushes, woodpeckers, and waterfowl. In summer you can see a variety of colorful song birds. During the fall season a variety of migrating birds and waterfowl are passing through the park. Winter is a time when sparrows, finches, and hawks can be seen. Sighting opportunities are throughout the entire park, especially the Fern Valley Trail where song birds and woodpeckers can be seen. Taking a pontoon boat ride or canoe trip on beautiful Greenbo Lake can provide for great birding along the lake’s shoreline looking for belted kingfishers, swifts, and waterfowl. For an enjoyable morning or evening bird watch you can sit in a rocking chair on the lodge front porch during the spring, summer, and early fall to view, ruby throated hummingbirds, chickadees, robins, and listen to catbirds and mockingbirds chatter.

Boating
The marina is open daily 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. during summer months and offers 25 open slips, rental pontoon boats, row boats, canoes, and motor boats. No jet skis are allowed on lake. The whole of the lake is idle only, and all boaters must observe no wake speeds. Fishing pier and boat ramp for launching boats are open.

Canoeing
Canoes can be rented at the park marina open spring through fall. Call the park for dates.

Fishing
Cast away your cares at Greenbo Lake! This 225-acre lake is home of two state largemouth bass records! The lake also holds large bluegill, crappie, catfish, and trout. A Kentucky Fishing License is required. Click here to purchase a license online at KY Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Resources. Don't have a fishing pole? No problem! Stop by the marina and ask about the fishing loaner program where overnight guests can check out FREE equipment.

Gift Shop
Small selection of Kentucky gifts, handcrafts, and books, including those by featured author, Jesse Stuart, are available in the lodge lobby.

Hiking
The trails provide the perfect opportunity for hikers, mountain bikers and horsemen to enjoy the scenery of beautiful Greenbo Forest. Self-guided trails provide 33 miles of easy-to-difficult hiking, or marked for multi-use.

Horseback Riding
Two multi-use trails provide 24 miles of opportunities for the equestrian.

Kayaking
Two-seat kayaks available for rental at the marina April through October.

Miniature Golf
Perfect your putting on the 18-hole miniature golf course in the camping area. Open year round. Sign out clubs at the lodge front desk.

Outdoor Theater
Enjoy a variety of entertainment this summer, including high school drama productions, concerts, music festivals, arts and more. Pets are allowed if restrained.

Pedal Boating
This family favorite is available for rental at the park marina.

Picnicking
The park has two picnic shelters along the pool road with rest rooms that can be rented. There are two more picnic areas in the campground for campers.

Playgrounds
Three playgrounds -- behind the lodge, in the campground and near the large shelter -- are available.

Swimming
A swimming pool adjacent to the lodge is for the exclusive use of lodge guests. A community pool features a water slide and a children’s area with a rain tree is located next to the lake (swimming is not allowed in the lake).

Community Pool Operating Hours
Hours: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. daily

• Adults $8 per person
• Children 4 - 12 years old $5 per person
• Children 3 and under $2.50 per person
• Campers with parking pass: $4 for adults; $2.50 for ages 12 and under.
• Lodge guests with room key: $4 for adults; $2.50 for ages 12 and under.

Scuba Refuge
The 10-acre scuba refuge will allow divers to use the lake May through November and other designated times from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Divers are required to present their open water certification or have an instructor with them that has an approved certification. Other types of accepted certifications would include Advanced and Rescue Diver. Divers are also required to have a dive buddy and display his or her own diver-down flags. Water depth averages 25 feet. Daily fee of $12.
